Nearly five thousand visitors came to Matsuri, which took place at the Universiity of Illinois Arboretum, celebrating the end of Spring break, of the Japan House.
Over a dozen artists and artisans were located around the garden featuring handmade crafts and goods with demonstrations and performances scattered throughout.
Traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, Hawaiian Hula dance performed by Hawaiian Hula School from Chicago, Japanese dance group from Chicago performing awa odori and more, inlcudinga variety of restaurants lined up offering delicious Asian-inspired food and beverages for all was part of the day's festivities.
