Also with Mr. Zink's permission, I took a shot an editing his aquarium image. Unlike Camellia's, which I liked, I kept much of the original background because I favored that pop of color. I did blur and give it a dark glow, but the main thing, other than adding some dynamic contrast of the fish, was that I cropped the left pectoral fin to match the crop of the original image of the tail fin in order to give it balance.
Nice capture for an aquarium capture, love the colors
ReplyDeleteNot bad ... Very good idea of cropping the fin to five a balance!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy!
DeleteThe crop on the bottom is quite good! I agree that it adds a bit of balance. The blurred background, to me , is a must for this shot-any detail in the background takes attention away from the fish.Nicely done, John!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe! I appreciate the invitation to take a run at it. As I said before, that was exceptionally well done shooting through glass in such light conditions. Any reason you don''t normally shoot in RAW?
DeleteWell done. I didn't think of the crop/balance. Once again how differently we see the same thing :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have kept that in mind from advice given by Mike Moats about cropping of subjects and landscape photographers concerning balance. Trying to learn from the experts!
