The Perils of Autofocus

Sometimes when your eyesight is not perfect you have to use autofocus.

Sometimes autofocus is perfect and other times it is way off....as it was in this case.

Rather than focusing on the nearest flower...autofocus chose the flower in the back.

When eyesight fails...you rely and then hope for the best.

  1. Tell about it! I can't rely on either sometimes!! Does your Z do in camera focus stacking? I'd give my left *** for that in a camera - I can do it tethered, but not hand held. F36 will save the day in many cases, but I often can't use that aperture without a little extra light. Getting old ain't for sissies.🤣

    1. Same here ,eyes are on the say back, abd focussing gets harder. Focus peaking and magnifiing glass on my Fuji helps really a lot

    2. Yes John the Z does focus stacking but I have never used it hand held....always tried it out on stillife with a tripod. Might be something I should try out.

    1. Peter would you believe this was point focus. And my point is always centered on my viewfinder...which should have been focues/sharp on the center flower. These oopsies don't show up untl the image is on a large screen.
