Everytime we are in Germany at the Moselle river, we go walking. There are many paths you can follow, I always select one of the "dreampaths". They are round walks, so you start and finish at the same place.
This time the choice was the Bleidenberger Ausblicke. A 12,8 Km long walk going up and down the mountains. Difficulty was 3 boots, you have to be in good shape for that walk.
We started in the morning, there was still a bit of mist hanging low. And straight up the mountain we went.
Between the winefields we walk quite a while, all the time climbing.
Once we were at the top you got a nice view on the Burg Thurant.
We visited that castle before.
Down there we slept in the third house.
On the mountain there were leftovers from an old setlement going back to the time of the mamouths.
These signs you follow all the way, and it would not be Germany if they were not in perfect shape. A joy to walk, you not have to search to much fo your way.
A part of the walkway is a pilgrims route. These sign of the St jacobsshell you can follow all the way to Spain, Compostella. Those walkways start in many places in Europe and come together in France I believe.
After the walk it was time to treat the inner person with some liquid gold; a good Riesling wine.
Loved this post. Went through it twice; once to read each caption, second to look at the photo in full size. Beautiful captures of a beautiful area. Thanks for pointing out where you stayed, I found it right away 😉
