Looks kind of foreboding maybe but as mentioned with Camellia the other day imagination is often better than reality! This was taken in Southwell workhouse actually on one of the upper floors where creature comforts were minimal so no carpet or anything and a feeling that made it quite prison like. So this actually the way to the lower floors and the exit. Sadly for Camellia, who is worried about following me, she will be stuck in a grim part of the building 😉
And leading to ... A wine cellar??toilets?? Some kind of dungeons or a jail??? My imagination went a little crazy....

DeleteNot walk to the light, come back. Very good photo
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter
DeleteI love the way the light catches the wear on the treads - adds an extra layer of texture to the that of the walls.
ReplyDeleteThanks John. Right place right time!
DeleteI am definitely not following you down there Peter 😊😉
ReplyDeleteMaybe I wasn't going to ask you 😅
DeleteMakes you wonder if this is a way out, or a way in? Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. Yes, effectively the way out.
