From a distance, this English lavender looks rather bland and pale. But when you get close (+10 diopter on 35mm APS-C), and hit it with a speedlight, that richness and detail does come out. I always told my biology and environmental science students to look far and wide, but to focus near and close - life exists in the details and at the margins.
Innitially I saw it on my phone and it did nothing for me ( sorry being honest here). This morning I opened it on my computer and enlarged. WOW!! Loved the details and the color, especially the details. Read your comment to Geoff and yes I agree and that is why I like macro so much.
Amazing dense coloured detail.
