A walk in my neighbourhood that included a visit to the National Gallery was organized recently by Ramin Izapanah, a well-known local street photographer. Over the years I have taken my camera into the gallery many times and have never ceased to be amazed that there is still something to shoot.
The Rideau Chapel is a spectacular venue, a chapel that was rescued from a convent that was short-sightedly not designated heritage. The chapel was removed piece by piece and reassembled at the gallery. When a visitor walks in they are treated to a forty-voice motet, Spem in Alium by Thomas Tallis. It is a very special experience to sit in the chapel surrounded by forty speakers playing Renaissance music in this splendid chapel.
What a great set of photographs Abigail and what a learning experience for me. I had not heard of Ramin Izadpanah hence, I had to look him up....apparently we seem to come from the same region of the world. But your gallery photos are definitely astounding and once again a reminder that "what you have seen before is not what you will see again."
