Play Day

When the weather chooses not to cooperate and forces one to stay inside, it then becomes a play day.

The kind of play day, where you take unfocused, poorly captured, photos and play with different apps and "toys" to make something out of nothing.

Quite honestly, I won't say I made something out of nothing (it's still a nothing) but I did play and learned a few more things I didn't know before,

I took this photo a few days back and once home realized that I had missed the focus.

Me being me....never deleting anything until I have played with it, decided to play with this photo in Topaz Studio.  Hence, pushed this button and that button until I transformed the above photo into the one below.

Really not much of a photo but it did help to kill some time and play.

I found out that the app is still available for download, therefor I am adding a link here for those who would like to have another toy to play with.

    1. 😂😂😂 Peter I have tons of programs, which sit domant for months on end, until I am bored then one or two come out for play. In reality the two programs I use regularly are Lightroom, primarily because that is how I catalogue my photos and Photoshop because it has some tools that are better than Lightrooom. Topaz was gifted to me by my daughter when I started this hobby. At the time is was totally different than what it is now. They have since changed a lot but it is still one of the best programs out there if one does not want to get caught in the Adobe subscription plan. I like to experiment 😉

  2. Nice - looks like what I might do with Smart Photo Editor sometimes - it now has over 8K filters/effects. I'm like you - with the heat, time to stay inside and play around with editing, especially for our new Art challenge. Even thought I have Photoscape X Pro, Luminar, Affinity and GIMP, I still mainly use ON1 because it's LR/PS all in one, then go to SPE for fun stuff. I looked at Topaz several times, but it just didn't warrant the $99 bucks for what it would give me compared to SPE.

    1. John I understand the cost part, but of course compared to Lr and Ps it is a one time expense and your are done with. And with the link I posted ( I did not download because I already have it) not sure if it was a trial or the full thing. Anyway, my point for this post was to help those who want to play but don't know where to start 😉

    2. The link was for a free download, but the program wasn't. But I get your point and I do like to try new programs to see if they will get me anything I couldn't do with what I currently have. I'm sure, like me, you can do your standard edits in less than two minutes, so why bother with anything else. It's the possibilities that are fun and that's where we are both alike.
