Thursday Expressions

Thursday's topic description includes pictures that evoke stories.  Here's the story that goes with this one.

In Times Square in New York City we were approached by a short Asian-looking guy in a saffron robe.  He looked like he might be a Buddhist monk.  He held out a little bead bracelet to me, with the implication that he'd appreciate a small donation in exchange.  Generally I feel quite positive toward Buddhist monks, but I said no, and he walked away.

We saw our monk again a few minutes later at a table in the plaza:

    1. Yeah, I figure he's either (a) the kind of rebel monk who breaks all the rules but is actually more spiritual than anyone, (b) a guy who wears a monk's robe in the mornings and a Mickey Mouse costume in the afternoons, or (c) as you said, just surviving from gig to gig.
