Maybe a little explanation on this one. The Diver is a 15 feet tall sculpture weighing 3 tons and is secured 26 feet in to the River Thames at Rainham. It 'guards' the nearby concrete barges (see here) and is fully exposed at low tides and can be fully submerged with a spring tide. I caught it somewhere between the two.
Oh interesting and really a good photo oppurtunity
ReplyDelete16 Barges??? That's a quite a few in one area. Intersting sculpture and a strange location for it to be placed considering it's not always exposed.
ReplyDeleteApparently it gives a sense of the regeneration of the area. ?? And yes there are 16 barges there. Apparently at the time 26 were brought on site but 10 weren't used here.
DeleteInteresting capture
ReplyDeleteSomeone had quite an imagination!
