That's about a 10/12 pitch roof, so around 40° from the vertical of the vent pipe. I guess I'm fascinated by roofs, since as a teenager I put on a few, including doing some nasty ones at Dogpatch USA (long closed) while in college...instead of going to classπ.
Sounds like hot work! I'd take an air-conditioned classroom anytime. Thanks for the info. Both the roof and the vent pipe appeared vertical to me, but that little mystery was part of what made the picture cool.
I haven't taught anything for a couple of years - retiring from teaching gave me the time to get back into photography. At an early stage of my life I taught electronics, math, and science to future electronics technicians. After I went back to school I taught a variety of psychology topics, research design, and statistics. I never taught K-12 students, which is fine: they scare me. π
Geeks of the world unite! You should be scared of teenagers, but as I told new teachers: Kill one the first day and the rest of the herd settles in very quickly. As I looked like an outcast from the Hells Angels, they didn't doubt I might actually do itπ€£
Interesting capture love the back drop
ReplyDeleteIt was a steep proposition, but I managed itπ
DeleteJohn always has a unique slant on things.
DeleteNice one! I love these kinds of shots. I can't figure out the geometry of the situation, though. What is the angle between the pipe and the shingles?

DeleteYoung=stupid+needed money. Compression effect of the telephoto makes the illusion. By they way, what do you teach? Never knew.
