  2. Excellent! What a nice excursion. Funny how the diples look exactly like a Norwegian pastry called fatimenbackle(sp?) my grandmother made and drizzled with honey, too.

    1. You know I like to look up things....so I copy/ pasted your perfectly spelled "fatimabackle"😁in Google and came up with "Fatima's Buckle" πŸ˜‰. But did manage to find what your grandma made Fattigma cookies and the recipe is in someways similar....looks like either the Greeks took it to Normay in acient times or vice versa.

    2. Oh, My Queen, you have amazed me once again! The Fattigman is indeed the treat my grandmother made, but her pronunciation, as I checked with my oldest brother (who speaks Norwegian, having spent two years there on Fulbright scholarship) was of a "country" dialect, adding the "backle" as "bite" or "bit". Poor man's bite.☺️
