  1. Oh, that is really pretty, John. Are those blue lights at the side?

    1. Thanks Nancy - that blue is reflection from the sky. It was clear and bright at noon, so I used a variable ND filter (don't remember the setting, but probably around a 4) that allowed a very slow shutter speed which intensified the colors.

    1. Thanks pal. It was the variable ND filter - I use it a lot these days since I'm often out in midday. I rarely use a polarizer now.☺️

  3. Really nice! I love the blue-sky accents and also the shadow.

  4. Did you use a tripod? I've got an ND4 filter, but haven't tried it because I didn't want to carry a tripod or hand-hold long exposures. What do you do?

    1. For my 18-55, I go handheld - this one took several exposures, not because of me but the wind was very difficult. The variable ND allows me to makes images like these or ICMs, too.

  5. Had to look up ND4 in Google. At least I now know what it is. Thanks, John, always good to learn something new!

    1. You're very welcome Geoff. The variable ND gives me more control over exposure when sunlight is very harsh.

    1. So kind - I find myself going back to look at it, as well. At the time, I wasn't really enamored of this image, but the more I look, the more I like. ☺️
