Legacy of a Lost Soldier

Our world is currently one of chaos and violence.  It is imperative that we remember those who have fallen to try and right the wrongs of the world.

I have only the bare bones of this story but I hope that I have it correctly.  In 2009 a young soldier not many years out of high school was killed in Afganistan.  In his memory a program of youth leadership is now running across several high schools including his.  Each year a piece of his parachute is given to a deserving student.

The soldier was from the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, 3rd Battalion and the students in the leadership program came to the Cenotaph to honour him on Remembrance Day.  In addition they brought a trumpeter who played for their small and very moving ceremony.
