It was a gorgeous day for an outing to Mer Bleue in the east end of the city.
From the website: "Located in the southeastern sector of Canada’s Capital Greenbelt, the
3,500-hectare Mer Bleue conservation area provides a unique opportunity
to see a northern boreal landscape. The Mer Bleue Bog is approximately
7,700 years old, and is a habitat for many species of regionally and
significantly rare plants, birds and other wildlife."
A boardwalk takes the visitor out into the bog where today there was a vista of acres of bloom.
Then we climbed out of the bog and into the woodland...
What a beautiful selection.

ReplyDeleteWonderful place! Looks great in b&w. Very much like my nearby nature preserve with the boardwalk and woodlands.
