"Hintonburg is a neighbourhood in Kitchissippi Ward in Ottawa, Ontario,
Canada, located west of the Downtown core. It is a historically
working-class, predominantly residential neighbourhood, with a
commercial strip located along Wellington Street West. It is home to the Parkdale Farmer's Market, located along Parkdale Avenue, just north of Wellington. It is considered to be one of Ottawa's most "hipster" neighbourhoods." - Wikipedia
Saturday was a fun ramble through an area of the city that I do not know very well. The RA Photoclub ran an outing as a joint venture with the Urban group and the Still Life group which they called Found Still Life. A fun outing and a great pub lunch, who could want more?
I ended up with a number of still life images but also quite a number general urban shots so I will post the later in two batches. A completely different area of the city for me.
There is a lot of gentrification going on in the area and along with that wall art has become popular on commercial buildings.
This building was once a factory, now has been saved from demolition and houses offices.
Modern cladding on a building that has been standing since 1946...
Mother Nature is always waiting to invade...
Great captures. Love the hand mural. You are so lucky to belong to a photo group that actually goes to different sites to photograph. Our local group seems to be lacking imagination and ends up walking the same area year after year. Looking forward to your next post.
ReplyDeleteGoing on the outings to different areas of the city is a big reason to stick with the club, otherwise I would probably not get there.
DeleteWonderful captures love the first mural
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tom
DeleteThat sounds like a great outing. Lots of interesting stuff in your photos. I really liked the one with the fence.
ReplyDeleteYes, the fence really appealed to me.
DeleteWell done!
