Satuek bootraces: Blessing of the boats

 Before raceday, all the teams gather for the blessing of the boats.

The boats gets dressed up and it is pretty colorfull. The blessing goes together with prayers from monks, a speech or two by local polticians and music and dance.

The boats get big respect and getting them prepared is serious bussiness.

Than the gathering starts for the blessing.

Everybody joins in for prayer . And I was not the only cameraman walking around. Nice thing was I could walk everywhere.

At the end the teams splashed the water and of they went.

Next post I gonna show you the dancer. First time I had the problem of being to close to them.
