Thanks! The patterns are thanks to cool shadows on the bedroom ceiling at 3 AM. I took a few shots with the iPhone. The grain is thanks to the fact that the original image was basically formless blackness. I told Photoscape X to apply Auto Levels, and it cranked up the exposure all the way. All I contributed was a little cropping.
