Maybe it's true that a work of art is never finished, merely abandoned. Anyhow, I wasn't super-satisfied by the shot I originally posted today, so I went back to rescue it. After some experimenting, I think the best thing was just to turn it upside down.
While I do like this one better, because of the vertical movement, they both move my eyes through the frame. That, as I am trying to teach the folks on Senior Planet, is the purpose of leading lines. You've been making some wonderful edits lately - keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteThanks, John! I think becoming aware of how your eyes move over an image is really important to viewing and creating pictures. And that leads to being aware of where you -don't- want viewers' eyes to go when you make a picture. The original of my shot had those lines leading to a human and a building, but they didn't work for the picture.
