The bicycle has won a lot of popularity in the city. Antwerp is not car friendly nomore a lot of working going on in the city. and not small works. Also our city council is anti car in the city. Making parking expensive and in the ineer city impossible if you not live their.
Espescially the bike is very popular with young people who live and work in the city. Some not even have a car nomore. And with the coming of the E bike just popularity went through the roof.
And I must say , it is one of the fastest way through the city, and for sure the greenest after walking.
The bike has taken his place back in the street and is here to stay. Also funny many students just love vintage bikes.
And than you have these things, steps. In my opinion they should be forbidden. Some cities have banned them already from their streets.
They are just a menace, dangerous, an accident to happen.

DeleteI am ok with riding bikes as long as I don't have to compete with cars while riding. They've placed some bike lanes in our city to promote green, but the lanes are too narrow and too close to the car lane as far as I am concerned.
