Here is a link to a post on Wordpress including several galleries of photos from this, festival, one of the largest in South America, which takes place in the small town of Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Your galleries are absolutely amazing, Geoff! So is your productivity. There are a ton of great shots there. I also spotted one of you posing with 6 beautiful female performers. Well done.
Bravo Geoff! Beautiful images and a wonderful story, as well. (Your post was loading so slowly, I took a look at your formatting and changed the size of the splash image - it shouldn't ever be original size - and changed your link to open in a new window. That has helped some, but it I'm not sure why it still loads so slowly)
Thanks Piotr. I love going there indeed, such a friendly atmosphere and loads of action. My favourite carnival though is in a small village, Paucartambo, a few hours from Cuzco. I will be heading therein July!

ReplyDeleteThanks Tom, yes there is a great community spirit.
DeleteWow, wow, wow!!! Absolutely fascinating, Geoff!! How did you managed to get up so close? Were you part of a convoy?? Bravo!! Love love your blog!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough there are lots of people the town is small. The dancers parade along the narrow streets so you are never more than a few yards away.

DeleteGeoff, your pictures are fantastic. The colours. The motives. And so much interesting detail. I just can’t stop looking at them.
