Tuesday Art - Camellia

Lady with a pomegranate, unmistakably Camellia.

I saw the pictures of this and other murals in Uzbekistan Airways inflight magazine. They adorn the streets of Tashkent. As I landed in Uzbekistan last Sunday, I started looking for “The Lady with a Pomegranate”. Took me a bit of time and a great deal of walking and asking around but finally… tadaaaa!!! Found it!

    1. I liked it very much. Another one featured a cosmonaut. Found it near Yuri Gagarin Avenue, also in Tashkent. Will post it next time.

Uzbekistan is not the most obvious places to hunt for murals. Therefore, once you find one, they are even more precious.

    1. Hi Geoff, oh yes, that was The Find. Only in the former Soviet Union one would think of placing a mural on the inner wall of a government building, inaccessible to wider audience.
