Finally the sun broke through, after a period of rain wind and depressing weather. Time to go out.
Not had to work and my wife loves flowers so we went to visit a flowershow.
Near Brussels there is a castle with a pretty big park; it is the castle of Groot Bijgaarden.
In the 14th century there was the donjon, a fortified tower, the present castle is from the 17th century with some earlier parts.
As far as I know it is still in private hands.
Every year they create the Floralia Brussels, this year it is the 21th edition.
For this years edition they planted more than a million bulbs. Mostly tulips and other spring flowers.
The show runs for about a month, so they plant the flowers that they bloom in different periods so there are always flowers in full bloom.
This is only a small selection of the photos I took. Hope you get an impression from how it is.
The place is lovely in a great setting and very much worth a visit.
Very nice. Certainly looks like it's worth going to.
