Walking by the Vietnam
Veterans Memorial
Daily Photo Challenge
Sunday Street Photography
I took this photo earlier this week on our bus trip to Washington DC. I took a number of shots at the memorial and found a few that I liked. I particularly liked this one as the folks in front of me all had their heads turned looking at the names on the wall. Having the Washington Monument soaring up through the center was a plus - but no one was looking at it they were only looking at the names.
Spring Day on a Backroad
in Farm Country
Photo of the Day 98/366
This photo was taken from my archives. It was taken in Lancaster County in Pennsylvania and this road is next to our friends' home. They are Old-Order Amish and are very very sweet people. While most view them as "simple" - they are, in many ways, just like anyone else. They have their ups and downs, face the same challenges as others, and have many of the same joys we have. While they do not have our 'technology' they understand it (mostly) but choose not to be dependent on it. As in most situations, respect is the order of the day and I respect them and count them as my friends.
Quoted of the Day: "He who provides for this life, but takes no care for eternity, is wise for a moment, but a fool forever." - John Tillotson
