This photo was taken some years ago at a local State Park's lake. I was meandering about when I noticed the water reflecting the darkening skies. The water contrasted with the green plants and the singular bright yellow leaf trapped amongst the greenery. I liked the image and the colors. While I'm not thrilled with the composition, the only way to fix it was to change the plants and/or get in the water. Neither option was acceptable so this is what I got - I still like it.
Sun Setting Behind a Tree

I took this photo a few days ago while out hunting for a sunset. I found this scene and pulled off the road. I had to walk a distance once I was safely off the road, but it was worth it. The sun hadn't set yet, but I was able to move such that I could position the sun behind the tree branches. I should have moved a little to the left to get it between the branches but it was so bright that it was blinding me and I thought this shot was good enough for me.

Good ones, Joe! Regarding the quote, was Ms. Shinn saying we only get what we think we deserve? It's not clear to me.
