There are some just north of here. Our problem is, indeed, a lack of insects. No butterflies so far, few bees and, worst of all, no mosquitos. You heard me correctly. I should have at least two mating pairs of hummers right now about to drop their first clutches instead of a couple of solitary males, but there are no small insects for them to raise those broods. Too much fear off mosquito borne diseases has led to more spraying, reducing all insect populations.
You obviously have no cicadas flying around......want some?
