No need to apologize, Nancy -- I have extremely limited (usually zero) knowledge of the civil wars in other countries. These mannequins are both of African-American women, so they were either slaves or servants, depending on whether it was before or after the war. The lady of the house was probably sitting on the veranda drinking a mint julep. 😁
I am loving the capture. The perspective and the light that is so subtle coming in through the window. The shadows on the floor, all really nice. Where was this taken?
This was in the basement of Octagon Hall, the haunted house in Kentucky that Sherri Mitchell-Snider posted a picture of recently. I'm sure some of the ghosts there are/were slaves.
