Good question! I had to Google it to be sure; the answer is they are technically grain elevators, the remains of a milling company that burned down in the 1950's.
Nice repetition of form😊 I was visiting Iowa as a teenager when one of those blew up several miles away and man, was it loud! Grain dust is so inflammable.
