Today was one of the highlights of the summer of Antwerp.
The Antwerp pride.
The highday for the gay , lesbian, gender and many more, wich io not understand, but respect.
It is a ,party in our city for 4 days and the parades in the weekend attracks a lot of people.
I heard on the news about 115.000 people came to look.
Queers on wheels opened the parade.
I just gonna show you some of the people I photographed, else I have a blog way to big.
This girl was happy and proud to carry the rainbowflag.
There were are all kinds of people
I believe their where 85 groups in the parade ,all with there own program.
This is the second or the third year there is a delegation from our defense forces. It was very hard to come out if you had another nature. They have come far.
Even our police forces had their own bus .
This was the first time I visited the pride. The general feeling was, it is a feast.
I not understand all different takes on gender and many other things. But I do respect the people and find it very brave that they can publicy come out here in Belgium. Not all here have an open mind.
This is only a small selection of the photos I took today
Hope you enjoy them.
A great selection of images of a wonderful celebration👏
ReplyDeleteFree of mind, free of choice. But sadly not everywhere
DeleteGreat shots. It probably felt really good for them to be in public with so many like-minded and sympathetic people.
ReplyDeleteIt is a feast for them
DeleteWe had our pride weekend last May. I've posted some photos I took in the past. It looked similar to yours except no police force buses nor defence delegation participation. That would be too avant garde for here.
ReplyDeleteWell we always think that the states is an open country that ,celebrates all creatures of nature. They will follow, just takes time
DeleteWhat a bunch of fantastic colorful captures, we have pride in the park here no parades but no cameras allowed
ReplyDeleteNo cameras allowed, that is crazy. These people like to pose for the camera.
