Sunday Street - Railway Station

Apart from trains coming and going, Strasbourg Railway Station features interesting exhibitions. This time the Hermès Foundation show pictures of Saint Louis crystal. On a quiet Sunday afternoon, most of bored passengers play with their mobile phones in the waiting area. So do I.

  1. Very cool. I don't know if you saw my reel a few days back of the Totteham Court Road tube station in London, they have a display there, not of Hermès but an LED imersion. Might need a trip on your part 🙂

    1. Hi Camellia, No, did not see your reel. Will check the tube display. Pity I did not know it because I just came back from a weekend in Bristol and Bath, a hop on a train to London.

I arrived in Bordeaux yesterday and cycle towards La Rochelle. September is divine here.

    1. Hi Joni, Hi Tom. In fact, it is just a glass shell on top of the old station building. Look closer at the pictures, you can see it.

  4. I love railways as much as cycling. Railway stations are great, if not too crowded nowadays. The one in Strasburg has an interesting outer shell. Inside it hides the old building.

Have you been to Milano Centrale? A great example of fascist Mussolini architecture. Absolutely amazing, showing how little we are when we stand in front of Italian architecture.

  5. Nice set of images. Think I saw a TV show about covering the old station with glass. Pretty impressive.
