Can Picafort is a smaal beach city in the bay of Alcudia, Mallorca.
It is a holiday resort, with beaches, blue water, hotels and a lot of bars and restaurants. I must say out of season it is very pleasant. Good for walking, swimming and relaxing.
Also it is famous for its sculptures spread along the seaside and a few in the city.
The sculptures are by Joan Bennàssar and are named "Puertos de Alga Marina".
The Bennàssar cement woman are represented in full lenght, half lenght or just the head and stand in groups.
Their style has influences of ancient Mediterranean civilisations. For most visitors it is not clear what they represent. Goddesses and fairies who converse with nature and the sea.

DeleteI had to look him up. Interesting that he would call this installation 'seaweed port' when nothing in his sculptures resemble seaweed except for the fact that they are all on a beach.
