First of all, this shot was not previsualized. I'd snapped this corner with my phone because it seemed to have potential, but I didn't know if it could be made into anything. It's taken from a top-floor balcony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. It's the top of an empty space three stories tall. I converted it to b&w and cropped it down to the essentials ("Painting is the art of addition, whereas photography is the art of subtraction.") but the tones in the wall were muddy. I raised the exposure to lighten the walls, and the more I raised it the better it looked, so I kept going until the slider was at the end. Then it looked good to me. 😊
