In februari there started an exhibition, here in the city, about the female photographer, Lee Miller.
After seeing the movie " Lee " about her life, I just had to see this expo.
Her life is even more fascinating than her photos. A model in the twenties and thirties. The lover ,model and student of Man Ray. And the first female war photographer.
She was a photographer for Vogue magazine. what I found surprising is that Vogue published many photos about the war.
I just gonna give a small overview from the exhibition.
This photo is very famous. Lee taking a bath in Hitlers bathroom in his flat in Berlin. She said there even was warm water. A big change after being at the liberations of the deathcamps, she was one of the photographers there. Must have been so hard.
A death nazi, who killed herself.
The war left many emotional scares on her and never was the same after the war.
Here is Lee when still modelling.
She could claim that she was on both sides of the lens.
If you get the chance to see an expo about her work, do it.
Oh yeah, my daughter also came to the exhibition. She was drawn in by the cosy corner.
Thanks for posting this. It's cool how you took the next-to last one at an angle. I really want to see the movie, which is streaming on Hulu.
ReplyDeleteHad to add a bit of my own twist in it
