As I cycled towards Kozjak Pass in Slovenia this morning, I noticed an old car converted to a truck-like thing parked on the side of the road. I had a chat with Christopher, its owner.

Chris converted a 1980s  Polski Fiat 126 to a „Land Rower” (with a “w” to give it a more Polish feel) and is on a road trip around Central Europe and The Balkans. At the end of the year, he moves to… Paraguay. He’s been there before and wants to try living there. The immigration formalities have been settled already.

What an unexpected highlight of my cycling trip around Central Europe!

Here is Chris and his Land Rower:

Obviously no one travels alone: SapuĊ› The Jet Set Bear enjoyed a chat with Christopher’s friend, Mr Wild Boar.

    1. I keep my fingers crossed for Chris. He was in South America before and knows people in Paraguay. He can also reside there. I love dazzling frog-green, too.

    1. Oh yeah! I generally like cars in bold, bright colours. However, Chris told me he had a problem: he travels with a little trailer which obviously indicates he looks for camping in the wild. This is a no-no in many EU countries, including Croatia when he had encounters with the police. Our over-organised EU…
