In the west end of Ottawa there lies a small lake bordering on the tiny village of Britannia. The village mostly still exists but has been swallowed up by urban sprawl so it now sits squarely in the older suburbs. The lake is surrounded on three sides by a nature preserve, providing forest walks and views of all kinds of small wild life.
Yesterday I took my visiting son from California to walk the trails of this nature experience in the city. Peaceful and fun...
I will never be a nature photographer but it was fun getting the images anyway. Bit of a challenge.
The lilies are just starting to bloom...
The log almost looks like an alligator!
Very nice - it's so much fun to take a camera on a walk through the park. You never know what fun images await!
ReplyDeleteNature in monochrome is a challenge. Good use of light
ReplyDeleteI had the same thoughts, too - re photo#2. Interesting shots as always, Abigail!!
ReplyDeleteI don't why you say you will never be a nature photographer....these photos show otherwise. I especially like #3. The shadows, light & dark, all beautifully framed/captured.
ReplyDelete#3 is very good. The apparent disarray of #4 is quite amusing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures love the squirrel
