I love house concerts, they are so immediate and I have never attended one that did not have superlative talent performing. The concert we went to in the depths of rural Ontario farming country had soprano Catherine St-Arnaud and harpsichordist Dorothea Ventura performing and the occasion was indeed very special. Sorry that the performing images are not of a quality to display but I am not unhappy with the images taken on our foray through the countryside.
The first two shots, taken as I was getting wet from a small shower, are of a little one-room schoolhouse that is fortunately being maintained for its heritage status. Opened in 1878 it was in use up to 1969. Just a basic structure at a crossroads on the edge of a field that did its job for generations of children.
Arriving at our destination we found the garden to be in superb shape in spite of the drought. While the water in the pond was very low it was still there...
The sun came out in the afternoon and changed the light. Driving home we passed the little schoolhouse and stopped for a late afternoon shot.
All in all, a lovely Sunday afternoon - great concert, lovely lunch and friendly international folk. What's not to love?!
Seems you had a good time. The last photo is the one for me.
