  1. Is this some kind of a tourist train where the seats can pivot to watch the scenary?

    1. Nancy, my husband and I took the train from our city Springfield, Illinois, all the way to San Diego, California. These trains have sleepers (bedrooms) as well as restuarant, coffe shop, and of course the observation deck. I spent most of my time on this deck clicking away since the entire car is surrounded by glass so that one can have a view of the scenery.

    2. Thanks Camellia for the interesting info. I am curious - so, how many days was that trip? Is it something like the Amtrak?

    3. Nancy, this is one of Amtrak's lines. We switched trains in Chicago and then switched again in Loas Angeles. The longest leg of the trip, Chicago to Los Angeles took 43 hours, the rest were about 2 hours each.
