Arrival

We arrived late in our hometown of Satuek.

This year we tried to make it in one go, from Antwerp to Satuek. Everything was booked international flight, domestic flight, all in one day. What a mistake to make. I didn't expect that everything would go smooth as silk.
Brussels airport, we were in the transitzone in about 40 minutes, and no strikes. The flight to Bangkok was very comfortable, okay it was 11hours. Landing in Bangkok, than normally the stress starts. It is still one of the biggest airports in Asia, and they just added a new terminal, now you had to take a metro train to get to the main building. Normally getting out of the airport, bordercontrole, luggage, takes you about 1 to 2 hours. This time no, I could not believe it we were out in about 40 minutes.
We had to take a free shuttle bus to the other international airport in Bangkok, the other side of the city. Wel that bus was waiting and when we got on it took of.
I allowed enough time between flights, for getting out of the airport and the famous traffic in Bangkok. With everything going so smooth, we were way to early for our domestic flight . So the waiting game started.
Even the domestic flight was on time and it seems everybody had a course in efficiency, because yes you guesed it ,smooth.
When we arrived I was awake for about 48hours and it went not unnoticed. I am not 20y nomore, so next time one or 2 days in Bangkok for a rest.

In our small town they were preparing for the anual dragonboatraces. Because we were late at home ,I just could see the sunset over the river Mun. Than it was heading home for some fantastic food and an icecold beer.

Oh yeah, at home there was a new friend waiting.
A street dog named Hippo.

  2. Kudos to you for making such a long trip in one sweep. How lucky for you to have every thing fall into place as far as the flights and transportation, that is always the most exhausting part of any travel. Love the sunset photo. Looking forward to more about your trip.
