Friday - Nature

These are one of the many other photos where I asked myself - what was I thinking when shooting such photos??

The park / garden was newly developed and the flowers and plants were just babies ... I walked there and it was hot and I was determined not to leave the area empty-handed! The result - unsatisfactory photos!!

  1. Oh, I beg to differ, dear lady! These are the kind of intimate nature photos that many of us seek to find and bring to life. The color pop in #1, the placement of the subject in the frame, the exquisite background and the soft, gentle glow makes me have a "photogasm"!!👏

    1. Thank you kindly, John. Honestly, the flowers detail are not as sharp as I would like hence the soft look :(

    2. That's something that flower photographers work hard to achieve - sharp is not always the most pleasing☺️

    4. I bought a Soviet era lens, the 50mm Helios 81H, just for the purpose of soft flower focus. I got it on Ebay from the Ukraine just before the invasion.

  2. I agree with John in all aspects. Number 1 is definitely a beautiful photograph. That pop of color makes the photo outstanding to me.

  4. I'm a fan of #1 too. The beautiful colors and soft glow are great, but what struck me first was a feeling of energy like the stalk was a rocket taking off, and that against of background of gentle flowing leaf shapes.

    1. Thank you, Tom. Yes, I was attracted to the leave "veins" movement. Apologies for the late reply.

  5. I guess 'unsatisfactory photos' depends on what you hoped to achieve. Without that knowledge and on a stand alone basis I think they are great.
