Wat Phu Man Fah

Let me take you back, to our last trip to Thailand.
My Thai family knows I like the history and culture of Thailand. So seeing another temple is no problem for me.
This temple, Wat Phu Man Fah, is still under construction. It is located at Nang Rong in the province of Buriram. In Isan the north east of the Country.
The family really wanted me to see it.

The site is enormous and it is said that Thailand is building its own Angkor Wat. It is in the same style of the great Khmer empire. This has led to some political tensions with Cambodia, where the real Angkor Wat is standing. Let me say the original is always better.

The day we visited this place it was a grey rainy day. I had seen photos of it in the sun and they were brethtaking. No such luck. But, it gives me a reason to go back there next time.

These are just a small selection from the photos I took there.

  2. Beautiful photographs you have captured. I did look it up, you weren't kidding when you said the construction is still in the works...according to what I read the construction is intended to take 100-200, years with the onset having been 1998. Huge place!

  3. Beautiful, and very interesting. Thanks for the enjoyable and educational photo essay. My very favorite is the third from the end-- bw, looks like a hand holding a fan. Wow!
