  2. Perfect timing! In your comment on my People post, you mentioned being conflicted about photographing people. I addressed that a little in my reply to you there. I'd like to add that there are many different approaches to photographing people. Some street photographers catch people unawares, but others engage their subjects in conversation. You might enjoy this short video about photojournalists that I found inspiring: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1po92I9ODE . I hope this helps.

    1. It's a very iffy proposition here in rural SW TN to use a "real" camera to photograph people without permission., unlike in more urban/cosmopolitan areas. Never take a shot of a happy family at the park, caught in perfect Rembrandt lighting under majestic oak trees, where the husband has a very large pistol strapped to his right leg. Probably a Desert Eagle 50 cal or a Casull 454...just pass. We love open carry!!🤣

  3. Nancy, part of my click click repertoire is street photography. I really have never felt guilty about taking someone's photo in a public place. Your photo would have definitely been one I would have taken had I noticed what he was doing. In all the years that I have taken stranger's photo...usually try to make sure they are not aware....I've only once been approached by someone asking me to remove her photo. That's not to say I haven't had people give me dirty looks when they have caught me.I do sometimes motion to people asking them if I can their photo, but for the most part, I try to shoot from the hip.
