Young doves have no fear. I got within 3 feet of this one
and it didn’t know it should move. I’m amazed that there are ALREADY new baby
birds. It was freezing and massively snowing just yesterday, it seems. Google
tells me that mourning dove eggs take two weeks to hatch.

ReplyDeleteMy impression is that mourning doves are not the brightest birds on the branch. Once one walked so close in front of me that I would have kicked him if I hadn't yielded right of way.
ReplyDeleteBabies look almost exactly like adults, to me.
