This guy seemed so perfectly suited to his sports car. He was in his own sports-car world while in the background other people went on in their own little worlds.
I love the lines-- the black car fin on the right, the hood of the car, the background car on the left, the reflection. I am seriously conflicted about photographing people. I don't mind what you did. I think what I did (the spitter, cropped out of a bigger scene) was invasive. I'm seriously conflicted about this genre.
I understand the conflict. We've each got to decide for ourselves what constitutes being invasive. I feel your photo was perfectly legitimate. Your photo of the spitter isn't flattering, for sure, but he was in a public place and potentially viewed by many other people when he spit. He wasn't seeking privacy. You didn't sneak into his home and take a picture through a peep hole. On the other hand, if you feel bad about the picture you've got to listen to that.
It is a very contentious subject. See my response on Tom's post - you have to know your surroundings and the sudience. They can, and sometimes do, turn on you. Hard to image a mid-life crisis car junky passing by causing a problem, though.
