Taking out an oldie

Today had a walk with an oldie, and no the oldie is not me. It was one of my vintage lenses. The Meyer Optik Gorlitz , Lydith 30mm f 3.5.

MOG is one of mine favourit lensmaker, they rivaled Carl Zeiss in their days. And I have a few of them.

It has been a while since I took out some of my old lenses for a walk.

The Lydith is a small lens that sits well on my Fuji XT10. Aperture from f3.5 to f22. And if you want it has a preset for your aperture. The 30mm transforms on my camera to a 45mm, what is almost the human eye. Min focus distance is 1.1ft ( 0.33m ). And at 6m or 20ft it reaches its max. The lensmount is the classical M42 screwmount.

I must say that I found it a practical lens to use for a walkaround. So lets see some results.

Wide open it is a bit soft and has a pleasing bokeh. Some would not find it creamy enough.

But when stopped down it gets pretty sharp.

I very much how it renders it colors. They are quite neutral and pretty much like you see them.

The next photo was the photo of the day

I had fun using this lens and , I will use it again in another walk.
