  2. Beautiful, John! Reminds me of the mono still lifes by the old masters like Weston. Neat how those simple smooth leaves surround that center that is so complex.

  3. John, I've been wowed by a good number of your photos of this flower, but this one might take the cake. I remember in particular a photo with a few orangey stamens (?) cupped in a front petal. The black and white contrast here is gorgeous. The tightly closed bits are really fascinating to see. This black and white is peacefully, quietly beautiful. So nice.

  4. Beautiful capture of a beautiful flower. I find magnolias to be one of the most stunning flowers and wish they lasted longer than they do.
