On my recent trip to Rome I only bought a ticket to one attraction - the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Of course with my luck the only day it rained in two weeks in Italy was that day! It was fun though watching people scramble to buy umbrellas and ponchos from the hawkers; if there is one truth about tourists it is that they never give up in the weather. Fortunately I had my rain jacket so was fine.
I am posting in two lots so that nobody hopefully gets too overwhelmed with all those ancient stones...
The view from the Palatine Hill was spectacular
Even for a wondrous view I was not going to risk life and limb on water-covered marble flooring no matter how beautiful.
