  1. Very interesting! Great choice of something to fill the frame with. What did this lady do to offend these people?

    1. It was in a small church but I couldn't find any info on it. Could be something biblical but I am not very well up on that sort of thing!

    2. Curious me had to look it up."The belief that St. John the Evangelist was boiled in oil is a famous medieval legend. According to the 13th-century collection of hagiographies called the Golden Legend, Emperor Domitian ordered John to be immersed in a cauldron of boiling oil in Rome. He miraculously emerged unharmed and rejuvenated, which led to his exile to Patmo".

    3. So I had to look up hagiographies, and found they are "biographies of saints or religious leaders that focus on their virtues, miracles, and deeds." Then I looked up images of St. John being boiled, and yes, the majority show him with long curly golden locks. He went on to write the biblical Book of Revelations, and was immortalized in song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uzjnm7YBjkk).
