Nuits Blanches

Nuits Blanches takes place in a number of venues worldwide and after a hiatus of several years Ottawa decided to celebrate it this year.  A festival of lights, it supports innovative designs, performance art and spectacle. It was held in the Byward Market which is easily accessible by public transport.  As I live in the area I had no excuse not to go out and see the lights.

My "backyard" opened on to the performance venue, my daughter thinks it looks like a movie set.

This troup from Montreal was certainly spectacular!

Even the apocalyptic look of the American Embassy garage added to the vibe

The Ottawa School of Art got into the act:  they prepared a number of bas relief plates, inked them and ran a sidewalk roller over the setup to produce a print.
