After pretend-to-be-busy Friday in the office, I took a 25-mile leisurely bicycle ride to a little spa town in the Ahr River valley. We have been coming to Bad Neuenahr for more than a hundred years now to “take the waters”, indulge in wellness and fitness (and gambling).
Here comes the wellness weekend then and now:
Very nicely done, clever too π
ReplyDeleteThanks John. There is so much to discover in these underrated little places all over Europe.
Deleteor Peter evenπ
DeleteOoops, the sauna was too hotπ
DeleteWe go sometimes to the Ahr, in Rech and Mayschoss. They are still recovering from the floods. This set is a timecapsule, nice
ReplyDeleteHi Peter, I know, you mentioned about your visits here before.
DeleteI like cycling in the Ahr valley very much. The Steigenberger was re-opened a year ago but the area around is in need of heaps of money to recover after the flood. The renovated hotel and a small spa are great, though. We are just about to go downstairs for breakfast (which is as good as their new saunas) π.
Great post! Love the comparison. Hope you are well rested now π
ReplyDeleteHi Camellia, It was great! Juergen went home by train and I took a bicycle (what else?) and went through my favourite villages, meadows, forests. A nice 40-mile ride, soon will be home.
DeleteWell done all fantastic captures love them all
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. I have just come back home. Cycled from the spa, a nice 4-mile ride. What a nice weekend.
